This is to inform our dear participants that we will be conducting the
Final Exam for ESPEN EUROPEAN DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL NUTRITION AND METABOLISM at Second Virtual ESPEN Congress 2021.

The ESPEN Leonardo da Vinci Life Long Learning Project is an ESPEN - EU global effort to improve daily practice in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism and develop quality care in nutrition by means of an innovative educational initiative.

Become a proud holder of the ESPEN Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism!

The Exam will be held on the 15 September 2021 at 14.00.

The deadline for receiving applications is 15 July 2021. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

The LLL - Board invites you to join a WEBINAR-TLLL course for trainers!

If you are already a TLLL certified teacher, you can upgrade your "know-how" for LLL Webinars. To participate in the course, you have to send the email to:
Prof. Alessandro Laviano (Alessandro.Laviano@uniroma1.it) and
Prof. Regina Komsa (rkomsa@gmail.com)


If you are not a TLLL certified teacher and you are interested to join the TLLL team you have to be:

  1. an ESPEN member for the current year (2021)
  2. older than 35 years
  3. member of a national PEN society, which is ESPEN block member and ESPEN council member
  4. have completed successfully 3 LLL live courses/Webinars (12 credits) and 3 online LLL topics (8 credits)

If you comply with these pre-requisites, please send your application to Prof. Alessandro Laviano (Alessandro.Laviano@uniroma1.it) and to Prof. Regina Komsa (rkomsa@gmail.com) with the following documents:

  1. short CV summarizing your educational experience
  2. letter of recommendation signed by the chairman of the national PEN society
  3. proof of payed ESPEN membership

Please note, that due to the limited number of participants, those who are already experienced in LLL teaching will have priority.
Please, send your application to Prof. Laviano and Prof. Komsa not later than January 01, 2021.

Only an official communication by any of the LLL Board members (i.e., Prof. Laviano, Prof. Komsa, Prof. Meier) will confirm your acceptance to the webinar TLLL course. No other communication allows eligibility to the TLLL course.
Please note that failure to submit any of the requested documents will result in rejection of the application to the TLLL course. Also, all submitted documents will be checked by the LLL Board.
Participants will benefit from the TLLL course by acquiring teaching skills using a virtual environment and innovative methodologies. Also, after successful completion of the TLLL course, participants will become ESPEN-certified teachers of the LLL programme in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism.

LLL live courses were a success

During the 41st ESPEN Congress held in Krakow, 21 LLL live courses have been successfully delivered. Some of them have been presented as pre-congress activity whereas the newly updated LLL courses have been included in the main programme of the congress.
More than 1000 participants registered for the courses, and 875 of them took the test and received the LLL certificates.
During the congress, the final exam to receive the ESPEN Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism was also organized. In the previous months, 33 candidates had completed the requested LLL curriculum and were admitted to the final exam. Twenty-five candidates passed the exam and were awarded by the ESPEN LLL Board with the ESPEN Diploma in Clinical Nutrition, which acknowledges the achieved advanced competencies in clinical nutrition and metabolism.
Finally, after successfully completing the TLLL course, 35 new LLL teachers joined the ESPEN Faculty.

INVITATION TO ESPEN LLL COURSE AT THE EFAD CONFERENCE

The LLL Courses are an important part of ESPEN educational Programme which is expanding educational opportunities in the field of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism of medical doctors and health professionals.
Since 2005 more than 1500 LLL Live Courses have been organized in more than 140 countries, 53'898 participants have attended LLL Live Courses 48'880 participants are registered on the LLL-Programme on-line!

The 14th ACCN Course of Clinical Nutrition took place in Ohrid on April 5-7th 2019

With an international turnout from more than ten European countries, sixteen lecturers and fifty-five participants took part in the course. Slovenia, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania were all represented.
